Construction Automation Engineer (BMS)
AESC is currently seeking a skilled Construction Automation Engineer specializing in Building Management Systems (BMS) for a significant Engineering-Procurement-Construction project. This project involves the construction of large-scale production lines that have never been built before, aiming to achieve cell production volume at an unprecedented scale. Responsibilities:
- Developing, managing and optimizing processes in production through automation
- Implementation of (system) changes in existing and new systems, including instructing users within production
- Investigate and apply new techniques
- Manage software, backups and drawings
- Manage automation standards
- Advising and supporting the maintenance department with complex issues
- Participation in project teams and management of professional contractors
- Analysis, programming and commissioning of industrial automation projects
- Focus on industrial processes with PLC, Scada or DCS systems
- Supervision of engineering activities carried out by third parties
- Support for technical clarifications requested by customers
- Coordination related to the transmission of the project documentation to the Contractors during the request for quotation phase and during the execution of the project
- Participation in any HAZOP (Hazard & Operability Analysis) and/or SIL (Safety Integrity Level) sessions
- Participation in meetings with customers and suppliers
- Knowledge of international engineering and safety regulations and standards for industrial plants
Requirements:
- Have at least 5 years of experience working for global leading companies in supervising and managing the design/engineering of large industrial projects ($100m+ capex)
- Automation technician or BSc/MSc or equivalent in Software, Automation or Controls engineering, or equivalent
- Proven experience of automation & controls engineering of equipment used in process industry
- Skills in HMI and PLC Programming on Siemens & AB Rockwell platforms, Win CC, Tia Portal, PROLEIT
- Knowledge in Automation design, Controls & BUS communication architectures
- Ability to design automation systems on the assigned projects to meet customers expectations in product design and project execution quality.
- Ability to read and understand all related technical documents and ability to check the technical documents created by others
- Be capable of working in a close, multi-faceted team environment.
- Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn
- Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution
